"To anyone thinking of going to join Keri -Ann at her yoga retreat I guarantee that you will be completely satisfied. From my experience of attending one last year and it being my 1st ever classes, also my wife was in the class who had done many classes, to one Lady in the class who was very advanced, and there was even a yoga teacher from ... Australia there and Keri-Ann accommodated us all with ease. With all clients leaving completely satisfied. I highly recommend attending this and guarantee you will leave with an incredible urge to return to Italy soon and continue practicing yoga . I am still doing yoga and am yet to match my experience I had with Keri-Ann.
Thanks Again K-A." -Glenn &Heidi

Last year I  had the opportunity to personally visit this beautiful 12th Century Benedictine Monastero nestled in the breathtaking and tranquil hills of central Italy at the crossroads of Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche.

Speaking from my own firsthand personal experience, this place is truly amazing!  Pictures really don't do it justice.  How can I convey the homey atmosphere this place offers?

The Monastero itself is like an extension of your own home. It has been restored with an attention to detail seldom seen today as well as incorporating modern conveniences.  Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and the rooms are very large and roomy. There is a large kitchen, as well as two sitting rooms, all with fireplaces.  The former chapel is a massive room with vaulted ceilings and  a fireplace. The furniture in there can be moved to the side and will be the location of the yoga and meditation classes.

Outside, you are surround by beautiful mountains and you can hear the river flowing in the background while you lounge by the pool with a glass of vino or a cup of tea/cafe.  The atmosphere here is so peaceful and  tranquil  you may never want to leave!  There is a large outdoor patio with an authentic working wooden oven. This is the location for the opening night dinner party. The patio can also be used as another location for yoga classes, depending on the weather.  Along the side of the patio there is a large garden of  fragrant lavender that is the back drop to the kidney-shaped pool.

The Monastero is situated between two very quaint villages.  They are within walking  distance and offer many places to eat and drink, or shop.  Or you can just relax at the local cafes and sip cappuccinos all day. This is the real authentic Italy- where you will find Mama in the back making the pasta:)

The Monastero is located close to Assisi, Siena, and Perguia so I would suggest renting a car from the airport or train station so you can sight see and travel around the area, visit other neighboring villages, or tour the back roads of the Le Marche region. On the way to the Monastero, you will pass through some really scenic areas with breathtaking views as well as going through a mountain gorge. Make sure to bring your camera along!

What better way to experience this beautiful area than spending a week at this yoga wellness retreat?

a presto,
Keri-Ann

What the retreat is offering:
Yoga,Meditation, Ayurveda, Thai Massage, Healthy Cooking, Aromatherapy and more!

 About the yoga classes:

The yoga classes will be held in either the former chapel room where there are vaulted ceilings and a working fireplace that heats the whole room, or (weather permitting) outside on the terrace that over looks the pool and mountains.

Vinyasa/Hatha Yoga, which is a fun and high-spirited flowing practice of yoga that links the breath to movement. Each class combines meditation, movement, spirituality, stretching, deep relaxation, and having fun with the practice. There is interaction between the student and the teacher so the student gets the full benefit of the practice of yoga. The end result of the class is having the student walk away relaxed and energized.  The classes are open to all levels and, if you are beginner, no worries, you will find this a great way to start your practice.

Yin Yoga
It is a deeply meditative practice that entails holding the postures for an extended period of time.  The postures are performed to stretch the connective tissues of the body. Primary connective tissues include the hips, thighs and lower spinal area. These types of tissues do not stretch the muscles (as in the yang form of yoga) but they stretch and exercise the bone and joints areas of the body. This type of asana practice is beneficial to a wide variety of people.
Yin yoga also increases one’s ability to perform yang yoga. By having lubricated, flexible joints, yang practices will seem easier. Perhaps the main difference in yin and yang yoga is each practices affect on the mind. Yin yoga creates a balance and peace in the mind. In its earlier years of existence, yin yoga was used in order to improve meditation practices.

About the Ayurveda & Yoga Consultation:
During the Ayurveda sessions participants will learn their primary constitution, the food that best suit their constitution, lifestyle choices that support them and how to balance your daily life.

Thai Yoga Massage
The practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body's energy ("Sen") lines and pressures points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility. No oils or creams are used.

About the Cooking Classes:
Cooking healthy and delicious meals is possible even in the busiest schedules. The cooking program is based on teaching basic skills and techniques that make food preparation a form of meditation and nourishment for body and soul.
